Recording: Snedecor Lyrical Etude No. 1

So here's my first official recording post.  What I'll do is post the video then critique it in the comments section, so as to not bias you in your listening (yay for trying to obey survey rules!).  Again, feel free to leave any comments at all regarding the recording (the good, the bad, and the ugly):

I did 5 straight takes of this and it was the best one of that batch. I only did the excerpt that is required for the Air Force Band prelim recordings. Here is what I thought after listening to it a few times:

Cons:

-Dynamic range isn't as wide as I would like it to be. I especially felt that I didn't get soft enough on some of the decrescendos which left very little room for the forte sections to grow effectively
- A few attacks were fuzzy (harsh?) and a few releases were also not as clean as I would have liked
-I rushed the eighth notes in the second phrase up to the A
-Clipped one of the A's when slurring up to it (DOH!)

Pros:

-Excluding the attacks and releases I was pretty happy with the sound I was getting
-The musical picture is coming together better than it was before (more dynamic range will help).

My emotional aim is melancholy/sorrow, what did you hear?

Also, addition to the cons list:

-Intonation sounded a little funky to me at times

Technically ok, but phrasing lacks direction. There are ebbs and flows that should happen in the first six bars and a release of tension in bars 7 and 8.

Additionally, I thought the time was a little too metronomic for my taste and a touch of rubato would have added to the drama and intensity of the phrasing.
